Obama to address Congress on healthcare

After weeks of tumultuous town hall meetings and threatening Republicans and Americans with the fact that the Democrats will pass health care reform with or without them, Obama will make an attempt to return the momentum in his favor by addressing Congress directly.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) formally invited the president today to address a joint session with a letter stating: “Our nation is closer than ever to achieving health insurance reform that will lower costs, retain choice, improve quality and expand coverage. We are committed to reaching this goal.”
