Obama to address economy, Fort Hood shooting

(AP) WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama is expected to talk about the Fort Hood shootings and the double-digit unemployment figures at the White House later this morning.

Obama is expected to emphasize the benefits of a new bill that will provide tax incentives to prospective homebuyers and extend unemployment benefits to the longtime jobless. The president is expected to sign that bill into law shortly before his comments.
